Historical GM Stats
(AA Time)
Shit talking and The Coliseum, name a more iconic duo. Since I’m bored on this long ass flight from LA->NY, I figured I’d spend a little time looking into some historical stats and records for the GMs that have graced The Coliseum. Now we can see who can back up their shit talking and who is a dud.
Please note, all data is from AA time (After-Aryan, since 2015). Anything that’s BA (Before-Aryan, before 2015) is considered null and void and as far as I’m concerned never happened. (I also don’t have insights into that data so I’m going to ignore it).

QUICK HITS
- Amin and Sogg both got their first playoff appearance this year
- Balls and Diz also only have 1 playoff appearance, both in 2017
- Akbar and Diz have never been in the playoffs at the same time (Diz made it the 1 year Akbar didn’t)
- With 4 playoff appearances each, Zayd and Mo have made every season’s playoffs except for 1….this season where they both missed playoffs
- Not only has Zayd won the most championships, he’s also the only GM to even make the finals more than once (3 times)
- In Edgar’s 12-1 season (2018), he did not make a championship appearance
- Historically, an 8-5 record guarantees you a playoff spot. 7-6 puts you in the running but you’ll need points scored in your favor.
- 2018 had the largest top-bottom difference in records, with 3 teams having 10+ wins and 5 teams having less than 5 wins.
- None of those 10+ win teams won the chip that year
- No other season had more than 1 team with double digit wins
- On the flipside, 2017 was the most competitive season with the team with the best record being 9-4 and only 2 teams with less than 5 wins.
- There were 5 teams with an 8-5 record
- This season, Amin leads the league with 162 moves — Akbar in close second with 154. The next person? Kayvon with 67
- In fact, Amin and Akbar have combined for more moves than the next 6 GMs combined.
